International collaboration

The European Federation of Internal Medicine is the European umbrella organisation of which the members of the Finnish Society of Internal Medicine are automatically members. Please visit the EFIM website for more information and membership benefits.

The Young Internists group under EFIM is also worth checking out.

The European Journal of Internal Medicine, published by EFIM, is available online in its entirety free of charge. To access it, you need to register on the journal's website. The European Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine is a publication focusing on case reports.

Each year, EFIM member associations organise a five-day summer school and a winter school (ESIM, European school of internal medicine) to which national EFIM member associations send doctors in the final stages of their specialist training in internal medicine. In 2018-2020, the Finnish Society of Internal Medicine has organised a winter school in Levi, Finland.
